Information Systems Technologist (Simulations Technician)

Simulations Technician include Planning, developing, and executing JCATS operator/picking activities.  The qualified candidate ensures that the movement and operation of the OPFOR and BLUEFOR are realistically portrayed and exercised with the JCATS. They have a detailed knowledge of the full spectrum of the U.S. Army Operations from the operational level of war perspective. They make recommendations to the JCATS developer for improvements and attend relevant JCATS meetings and conferences. The simulations technician conducts modeling, simulation and analysis (MS&A) support and training (both classified and unclassified) in the planning and execution of simulated computer-assisted exercises. They also Provide installation support of data processing equipment, maintenance and upgrade support to MS&A tools, support for the software development, troubleshooting, training, user documentation support and writing training materials. The technician routinely Sets up and maintains network connectivity for JCTAS server and JCATS client workstations. They Install, maintains and troubleshoots Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems. The technician handles most networking issues, including the troubleshooting.  

Position Requirements:
·      US Citizenship and SECRET clearance

Educational Levels and Experience:

·      5 years experience in Information Technology
